Homeschooling has been part of my life for more than 20 years—but that doesn’t mean I started motherhood knowing exactly what I was doing.
I was homeschooled beginning in eighth grade, graduated as a homeschooler, and years later found myself on the other side of the experience: responsible for helping my own children learn.
And even with my background, I had questions.
Was I doing enough?
Was I choosing the right things?
What happens when something that worked for one child doesn’t work for another?
Over the years, homeschooling seven very different children has taught me something I wish more parents heard at the beginning:
There isn’t one right way to homeschool.
Your children are different. Your family is different. And the season you’re living in right now won’t always be the season you’re in.
That matters.
I’ve watched my own children learn in completely different ways.
I’ve watched our rhythms change as babies became toddlers, children grew older, interests changed, life happened, and our family needed different things.
Some seasons needed more structure.
Some needed more flexibility.
Some required us to stop what we were doing altogether, pay attention, and choose a different way forward.
That experience changed how I think about homeschooling.
The goal isn’t to build the perfect homeschool and somehow keep it running forever.
It’s to learn your children, understand your family, and have the confidence to make wise decisions for the season you’re actually in.
I kept seeing parents who wanted to homeschool but felt overwhelmed before they even began.
They worried they weren’t qualified.
They didn’t understand the laws.
They were buried under curriculum choices and conflicting advice.
And even families who had already started homeschooling sometimes wondered:
Are we doing this right?
I wanted to create the kind of place that helps families move through those questions one step at a time.
Not by handing you somebody else’s perfect homeschool schedule.
Not by telling you there is one curriculum, philosophy, or method every family should follow.
But by helping you understand your options, think about your own family, and make decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
You don’t need to know everything before you begin.
You need room to learn.
Room to observe your children.
Room to adjust.
Room to grow.
And the freedom to build a homeschool that actually fits the people living inside your home.
